Jharkhand’s 81-seat assembly elections are set to take place in two phases this year, in contrast to the five phases held in 2019. Voting will occur on November 13 and 20, with the results scheduled to be announced on November 23.
The Congress party is backing the JMM, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in an effort to retain power, while the BJP is aiming for a comeback. As the state heads into the elections, it’s important for voters to check if their names are on the electoral roll before casting their votes. Here’s how you can verify your name in the voter list ahead of both voting phases.
EPIC (Electoral Photo ID Card)
If you have your Voter ID card, you can use the EPIC (Electoral Photo ID Card) number to search for your name in the voter list. The EPIC number is an alphanumeric code printed in bold on the card. To use this method:
- Visit the electoral search page. https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in/
- Choose the “Search by EPIC” option.
- Enter your EPIC number, state, and the captcha code.
- If your name is on the voter list, your district and Assembly constituency details will appear on the screen.
General Information
If you don’t have your Voter ID or EPIC number, you can still check your name in the voter list using basic personal details. Follow these steps:
- Go to the electoral search page.
- Select the “Search by Details” option.
- Fill in your name, age, state, and district, along with the captcha code.
- If your name is listed, your voter details, including your district and Assembly constituency, will appear.
This allows voters to easily verify their eligibility ahead of the election day.
